Greetings!

Greetings from Japan! My name is Meg (as you can probably guess from the title of this site.) Well, my real name is Megumi. It’s a Japanese name meaning ‘blessing’. And yes, I do feel blessed. You will understand why I feel blessed as you keep reading my blog posts (I know I just started but I promise I will keep writing!) My life has been such a wonderful journey. As a young girl in Japan, I fell in love with the English language as a communication tool. It eventually lead me to a 15-year journey in New York where I met my lovely husband and started a family. I also met so many people in my life who inspired me and made me understand what happiness is.

As I mentioned, I lived in New York for 15 years, but I had also lived in North Carolina and Virginia for a short while in my younger years.  I lived with two wonderful American families who still treat me as real family. I love it when they tell me to “come home.” America fit me well, and I loved the sound of my American name, Meg.

This blog is about my life, from small daily things to bigger, deeper thoughts. Sometimes I will write about my experiences, memories, or how I feel about living in the U.S.A. and Japan. I will write about everything, pretty much! I hope you will enjoy reading. For those who study the Japanese language, please try the Japanese section, too. Thanks for visiting!
